Sustainability is a difficult term that we are careful about using, because what is sustainable?

At GreenEtiq, we can only say that we really do everything we can to be as sustainable as possible and we are constantly looking for even better sustainable solutions wherever possible.

All our organic raw materials come from sustainable agriculture - they are planted and produced again as soon as we have taken something from the field, plantation and or grove. This is actually also a requirement from our certification body Natrue Organic, all raw materials must come from sustainable agriculture.

From the very beginning, the idea with the GreenEtiq brand has been that it should be as green and sustainable as possible, which is why we, for example, have deliberately opted out of using fancy sales cartons, even though it can give a more elegant and exclusive look on the shelf. We see it as a completely unnecessary resource, an expensive resource and as something that does not belong in a true green brand. We therefore print directly on the primary packaging, on approx. 93% of our total range. A single product has a printed label on it, around the packaging, as this is unfortunately the best solution for this particular product.

You can usually do without large printed labels, which cost both glue and paper, for each product, every time you start production, which in our case is a minimum of 1000 sales units per variant, - so also a good resource to save, in relation to our nature and the world. It is not cheaper to print directly on the packaging, - on the contrary.

All types of packaging that arrive at our house are recycled, if at all possible. This applies to both, for example, various cartons/boxes and packaging materials. Where it is not possible to recycle, the items are of course sorted, but very small quantities go to waste sorting.

All packages for retailers are packed in our own stored recyclable materials, both cartons/shipping boxes and various packaging/protective materials.

Packages for B2C customers are wrapped in a single piece of protective tissue paper, with a regular eco-friendly hemp string, which is nice, natural and decorative. Finally, this package is sent in an envelope, made of 70% recycled materials. All materials are purchased in Denmark.

Our packaging is made of one of the "mild" forms of plastic, PE-HD, when we talk about the environment and pollution, but still ensures the right barrier properties that can hold the product and give it a relatively long lifespan. We continue to dream of something better and more right, in terms of the environment.

We are certainly keeping our eyes and ears open for a more natural and quality-assured solution. Up until now, we have not been able to find the right quality in terms of barrier properties and, for example, recycled plastic.

One thing we are a little proud of is that approximately 88% of all our plastic packaging does not contain iron, because we use pumps without iron parts - it is pure plastic and can be thrown directly into the recycling plastic waste container. This is also something that our certification body is looking into and the requirements are becoming stricter and stricter in terms of what we are allowed to use.

Organic farming has many positive impacts on the environment, nature and climate, including increased biodiversity, especially beneficial for bees, which are essential for pollination of many foods.

The absence of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers reduces pollution and improves soil quality, while lower energy consumption and carbon sequestration in the soil contribute positively to the climate.

However, a challenge may be a potentially greater area consumption due to lower yields.
